At the age of 36, Luis Suarez obviously still has his well-documented quality and determination, and you can never write off a team he plays for.
Gremio were 3-1 down at halftime away to Brazilian Serie A leaders Botafogo on Friday, but the Uruguayan veteran stood up and bagged himself a hat-trick, securing a stunning turnaround victory for his team.

Lionel Messi was happy to win the Best FIFA Men s Player award and the star s focus is now on helping Barcelona respond to a slow start to the season.
Messi claimed the prize, rebranded in 2016, for the first time, beating Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk and Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo.
It marked his first major individual honour since claiming his fifth Ballon d Or in 2015 and the 32-year-old was pleased to land the prize.
It has been a long time without winning an individual prize, Messi told reporters.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez appeared to again promote the idea of a European Super League as he warned the current state of football shows it is sick .
Perez has been a leading figure in calls for Europe s elite football clubs to secede from UEFA competitions in recent years, and he was chairman of the proposed Super League in 2021.
The breakaway competition collapsed on the back of shaky alliances between clubs as well as political and public pressure, with each of the five aligned Premier League clubs withdrawing in the days following the announcement.
One of Perez s primary arguments for the concept was to allow Europe s elite to play one another more often, though Madrid did face Inter, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool on…
Eden Hazard has been linked with a move to Real Madrid and Willian would be sad to see his Chelsea team-mate depart.
Madrid are thought to be keen on sealing a close-season deal for Hazard, who only has one year remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge.
The Belgium international, who this month confirmed he had decided his future and informed the club, could therefore make his final appearance for Chelsea in Wednesday s Europa League final against Arsenal in Baku.
Asked if it would be good to send Hazard out with a trophy, a smiling Willian told Sky Sports: It s difficult to say [anything] about this situation because we do not know what is going to happen.
What I can say is if he goes, I am going to be very sad.

Liverpool remain locked in the Premier League title race with Manchester City after both teams won their respective matches on Saturday. Manchester City had no major difficulties in overcoming Leeds United at Elland Road, while Liverpool returned from St. James Park with three points in the bag as well, having beaten Newcastle with the only goal being a work of art by Naby Keita.
The Liverpool consistency
The levels of consistency Jurgen Klopp instilled in his Liverpool team are amazing. With the exception of last season, when injuries severely hampered their efforts throughout, winning important matches has rarely come into question in the last four years. The results were the fact that Manchester City needed a near-perfect season to beat them to the title by a single point i…
When you start the season the way Leicester City have, you have to wonder how far they can go this season. The Foxes have won more points at this stage of the season than in the corresponding part of the 2015-16 season, when they won the Premier League. No one is expecting them to achieve that again, but the club are definitely satisfied with the performances of their players and their manager.
Brendan Rodgers already signed a new deal until June 2025 couple of days ago, but now, they are ready to open talks with a couple of first-team players. One of them is Caglar Soyncu, according to LeicestershireLive, whilst the other one is James Maddison.
The Turkey international has reportedly sparked talk of interest from Manchester City, following solid performances, but the F…
Jack Wilshere that he is keen to earn a new deal with Arsenal.
The England international is currently on loan with Bournemouth, having joined up with Eddie Howe’s men in the summer.
He has since racked up nine appearances for the Cherries and is concentrating on performing well for them as he holds out for new terms at his parent club.
Since breaking into the Gunners’ first team, Wilshere has racked up one hundred and fifty-nine appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring twelve goals while he had a loan spell with Bolton Wanderers in the 2009/10 campaign.

It’s hard to think of a more gifted footballer in modern times than Sergio Agüero, yet in some people’s eyes he remains a criminally underrated player in terms not only of his individual brilliance, but also the transformative effect he has had on Manchester City.
When you look at the raw numbers, it is hard to argue that few players have made such an ongoing and lasting impact on the Premier League as Agüero. His list of records is astonishing, as is his longevity, with the Argentine having recently which, when it comes to an end in 2021, will mean he will have spent 10 years at the Etihad.
And he shows no signs of slowing down either, with most of the major betting sites, such as those , making Agüero the favourite to be the Premier League’s top scorer…
